Why Lessons in the Student’s Home?

Students of all ages and skill levels are welcome

Though convenience is reason enough to offer piano lessons in the student’s home, there are other benefits for parents, students and the teacher:

  • Students are more comfortable and less anxious at home.
  • Student’s won’t lose sheet music and other tools during a commute or leave something critical to the lesson at home.
  • Students take their lessons on the same piano they will practice on.
  • Distractions to practicing and issues with the instrument can be identified before they effect the student’s progress.
  • Parent and teacher rapport is encouraged.
  • The student/teacher relationship and the progress of the student can easily be monitored by the parent.

First Time Piano Students

The ideal time to begin piano lessons is around the age of 6, but if an interest is shown earlier, lessons are available to children from the age of 4.  Beginners, including adults, are taught the basic rules of the piano, but more importantly students are coached to understand music is both an art and a science.  An emphasis is placed on appreciation of classical music.  For more information on the benefits of piano lessons, read this article or call me at 972-333-1260.

Transferring Into The Program From Other Teachers

Two types of transfer students are welcomed into the program.  If your family has recently moved into the Plano/Frisco area from elsewhere and your child has been receiving piano training, the quicker they are placed with a new teacher, the smoother the transition will be.  Because lessons are taught in the student’s home, parents are relieved of carpool duties.

Parents and students are sometimes faced with the need for another type of transfer.  When your child is not thriving in their lessons, it may not be the child’s fault.  It may be time to consider a different teacher.  These are signs your child is struggling:

  • unmotivated to go to lessons
  • reluctant to practice
  • not learning new music
  • not improving their skills

If you see these signs, please call 972-333-1260.  We can evaluate the situation and decide what would be best for your student.

Adult Students

Perhaps you had piano lessons as a child and regret giving them up.   Or maybe you never had a lesson in your life, but have always wanted to know more about music.  What are you waiting for?  It’s never to late to learn!  Adult students begin lessons for many reasons, but their satisfaction with their progress and their appreciation of the music often surpasses younger students.  Call today to set up your first lesson 972-333-1260.
